These Buffalo Sloppy Joe’s pack all the flavor of Buffalo Wings but wrapped up in a reasonably light and easy to make family meal. My hubby and I like to eat our Buffalo Joe’s on salad tossed with a little ranch or blue cheese dressing or stuffed inside a sweet potato, but our boys eat the filling the traditional way, on buns. No matter how you serve it you will LOVE the slightly spicy, a little tangy and just a touch sweet flavor of this dish!

To make this #dinnerdoneby9am I fully prepare the meat and sauce in the morning, refrigerate all day, then reheat just prior to serving.

-1 Tbsp olive oil
-2 lbs ground chicken or turkey
-1 carrot, peeled and shredded
-1 stalk celery, finely diced
-1 yellow onion, diced
-3 cloves garlic, minced
-2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
-2 Tbsp brown sugar
-1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-1/4-1/3 cup hot sauce
-1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
-whatever you want for serving the filling on; salad, buns or baked sweet potatoes and ranch or blue cheese dressing to drizzle on top

Heat oil in a large skillet, add ground chicken or turkey, carrot, celery and onion. Cook until meat is cooked through, about 10 minutes, breaking up with a wooden spoon while cooking. Drain off fat and add garlic to the pan, cook 1 additional minute, stirring constantly. Add red wine vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce and tomato sauce. Simmer at least 5 minutes to combine flavors before serving, stirring intermittently.
