This is my knock off of a dressing I used to eat at a steakhouse years ago.
To make this #dinnerdoneby9am I assemble the salad ingredients and make the dressing in the morning, refrigerate them seperately all day, then toss prior to serving.
Salad
-spinach
-cucumber, diced
-tomatoes, diced
-shredded carrots
-red onion, sliced
-raw mushrooms, sliced
-(optional) hard boiled egg, sliced
-(optional) shredded cheddar cheese
Dressing
-2⁄3 cup ketchup
-1⁄3 cup water
-3 tablespoons sugar
-1⁄4 cup white vinegar
-2 tablespoons olive oil
-1⁄8 teaspoon paprika
-1⁄4 teaspoon coarse black pepper
-1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
-1⁄8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
-1⁄4 teaspoon onion powder
-1⁄4 teaspoon thyme
Combine all ingredients in a small non-reactive saucepan over medium heat, stirring, until boiling. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool. Pour into a clean covered jar and refrigerate.
