-1 ¼ cups whole wheat flour
-2 teaspoons baking powder
-1 egg
-1 1/2 cups milk
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1 tablespoon sugar
-(optional) 1/2 cup blueberries or chocolate chips
-maple syrup for serving

In medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Stir in egg and milk until well mixed. Stir in any blueberries or chocolate chips, if using. Preheat skillet over medium heat, grease with cooking spray, butter or oil. Pour approximately ¼ cup of the batter into the pan for each pancake. Cook until bubbly, about 1 ½ minutes. Turn, and continue cooking until golden brown.
